OVERLAP
OVERLAP is an artist-run exhibition space, store, and studio where exceptional art and design are valued and supported. Our space and programming provide an opportunity for audiences to experience, share, and learn and a place for creative thinkers and makers throughout the region to exhibit and sell their work. We are also a resource for collectors of contemporary art.
Our exhibition spaces provide artists and curators with a dedicated venue to imagine, realize, and present ambitious projects and visions. We are especially interested in supporting non-traditional artwork that is rigorous in craft and concept, yet accessible in presentation and context.
Our shop hosts a curated selection of excellent and unusual art and design work by regional artists available for immediate purchase.
Our studio creates a range of work from sculpture to tableware primarily using ceramic and fiber materials.

Founder & Director: Susie Matthews has been making and showing her artwork in Rhode Island for over 25 years. As a ceramist, Susie navigates the gray areas and intersections between art and design, sculpture, and functional objects. She believes all types of art should be valued, creativity should be encouraged, and that art should be incorporated into our lives as much as possible.
Gallery Co-Director Alicia Renadette is an actively exhibiting artist with extensive experience working behind the scenes at galleries and art museums. She appreciates the vision and perseverance required to foster creative practices and is dedicated to curating and promoting exhibitions that incorporate diverse perspectives and processes.
