Whitney creates functional fine art and conversation pieces from her original detailed drawings. Having traveled to 20+ countries, it was the American landscapes and wildlife that ultimately inspired Whitney. Her drawing collections include wildlife, coastal, nautical, skiing, and classic cars. Whitney graduated Cum Laude from Hamilton College with a major in Art History and a minor in Studio Art. She interned in the conservation studio at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, Italy and in the Exhibitions department at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. She spent a year abroad in Italy traveling every weekend to explore a country rich in artistic history and technique. Whitney’s detailed drawings have been selected several consecutive years for the Newport Art Museum’s Juried Members Exhibition. She draws inspiration from the historic, nautical, and coastal character of New England where she resides in Newport, RI. Wanting to create functional art for the home, Whitney's award winning drawings are now available as functional fine art porcelain dinnerware, stationery, and home goods. Whitney Wares has been featured as a top gift in Yankee Magazine, Newport Life Magazine, and on the Rhode Show.

“The Salon Series in the Library of the Brenton Hotel” is designed to give Brenton Hotel guests and the Newport community a chance to speak to local artists and gallery owners to learn more about Newport, RI's vibrant fine art scene. The Newport Artist Collective's “Salon Series @ The Brenton Hotel” is held every Thursday night from 5:00 to 7:00 and highlights a different artist or gallery.
