Emily J. Loftus’ oil paintings reflect local and memorable landscapes, seascapes and scenes from her hometown of Newport, Rhode Island.
Emily often captures moments en plein air when the time is right with her travel easel.
Otherwise, she shares her home studio with her husband and three children, encouraging her passion for painting. Her husband, Andrew, even makes beautiful floating frames for her paintings in their garage.
Her artwork has been displayed at Art Talk gallery events, and she sells it on note cards and prints so that everyone can enjoy the serenity and natural beauty that Newport offers.

“The Salon Series in the Library of the Brenton Hotel” is designed to give Brenton Hotel guests and the Newport community a chance to speak to local artists and gallery owners to learn more about Newport, RI’s vibrant fine art scene.
The Newport Artist Collective’s “Salon Series @ The Brenton Hotel” is held every Thursday night from 5:00 to 7:00 and highlights a different artist or gallery.
