Jerrell Angell AIA
An Architect and Artist, Jerrell works from studios in Boston and Newport, RI.
As an architect, he has managed large scale, complex architectural projects for the past 35 years – projects throughout the Middle East, North Africa, and Near Asia. Architecture has greatly influenced his artistic work –using watercolors as his media.
Subjects include urban street scenes, individual buildings, and landscapes. Still life have included culinary subjects and everyday household items.
Mr. Angell holds a Bachelor Degree in Studio Arts from Washington & Jefferson College, a Master of City Planning Degree from the Ohio State University, and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He has guest lectured at the University of Pennsylvania, Kuwait University, and Yildiz University in Istanbul.
Recently, Mr. Angell has exhibited as the Visting Artiest at the Spring Bull Gallery in Newport, at the Blossom Artisan Gallery in Jamestown, and at solo shows in the Sitka Gallery in Newport.

“The Salon Series in the Library of the Brenton Hotel” is designed to give Brenton Hotel guests and the Newport community a chance to speak to local artists and gallery owners to learn more about Newport, RI’s vibrant fine art scene.
The Newport Artist Collective’s “Salon Series @ The Brenton Hotel” is held every Thursday night from 5:00 to 7:00 and highlights a different artist or gallery.
