Kristin Stashenko is a painter based in Newport, RI, specializing in acrylic and gouache.
After earning a Master’s in Biology and initially working in research, she pursued her passion for art by attending Mass College of Art and Design while raising her children.
Following 15 years of freelance illustration in the greeting card industry, Stashenko transitioned to fine art to express her artistic voice better, focusing on graphic architectural landscapes.
She is a signature member of several watercolor societies and has exhibited in various prestigious shows, with her artwork held in private and corporate collections.
Stashenko currently showcases her work at the Blue Heron Gallery and the Copley Society of Art while maintaining her studio at Holliston Mill.

I have been seeing the beauty in the world through the lens of a camera for as long as I can remember. It all started with my dad, also a photographer, gifting me a film camera when I was only six years old. From then on, my favorite times have been spent observing our world and capturing the beauty and joy in the fleeting moments. I grew up on a horse farm and have always had a deep love for animals and nature, which shines through in the work that I create. I started my photography business to share the beauty I see in the world with others and inspire them to get outside and fall in love with travel and nature because what you love, you will protect.
I work with mission-driven, adventurous brands, retreats, and eco-tourism brands with sustainability at the forefront of what I do. Whether it’s capturing a brand’s unique story, showcasing the essence of a retreat, or telling the story of an incredible place or journey, my focus is always on nature and the brands and people that come together to celebrate and protect it. Through my process of content trips, I create an inspiring and cohesive visual identity to help your brand move beyond the struggle to meet sales goals and allow you to have a thriving business so that you can focus on your mission and make a bigger impact for our beautiful planet and its inhabitants.

“The Salon Series in the Library of the Brenton Hotel” is designed to give Brenton Hotel guests and the Newport community a chance to speak to local artists and gallery owners to learn more about Newport, RI’s vibrant fine art scene.
The Newport Artist Collective’s “Salon Series @ The Brenton Hotel” is held every Thursday night from 5:00 to 7:00 and highlights a different artist or gallery.
