Jhen Kordela is a versatile artist whose storytelling prowess infuses every brushstroke and design. With a background as a news reporter, Jhen brings a unique perspective to the world of art, blending narrative depth with visual expression. Her current work focuses on modern abstract collage, using vintage papers, acrylics, typography and shape language.
Drawing inspiration from the wonders of nature, the richness of diverse cultures and the depth of human emotion, Jhen’s work resonates with a spirit of gratitude and optimism. Each piece reflects detailed layers with textures and images that go beyond the surface, inviting viewers to explore the boundless possibilities of creativity.
Having earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from San Diego State University and a scholarship to Oxford University, Jhen is a lifelong learner, constantly seeking to broaden her artistic horizons. She is a member of the Newport Artist Collective and is currently pursuing certificates in graphic design and animation through RISD CE. Jhen embodies the belief that growth is a never-ending journey and continues to hone her craft at the Providence Art Club.
