Victoria Venditto comes from a family who is very encouraging of the arts. Her mom is an artist, high school art teacher, and an art studio owner who exposed her to the visual arts at an early age. She grew up watching her create bold abstract paintings and helping students of all ages to express themselves in creative ways. It was Venditto’s mom who made her realize that she wished to pursue an artistic career of her own.
After spending hundreds of hours producing a high school art portfolio, Venditto was eager to attend her freshman year of college at Maine College of Art as an animation major. Although she had the privilege of taking a closer look at the digital art and animation process, she realized that she felt deprived of doing what she loved most: meticulously creating detailed portraits of the human figure and face.
Venditto transferred to Salve Regina University in 2022. Since then, she has continued her artistic studies and declared concentrations in illustration and painting. Using materials such as graphite, colored pencil, oil pastel, acrylic paint, and oil paint allows her to creatively analyze human facial and body expressions.
She finds herself often thinking from a psychological perspective. Her goal is ultimately to tell viewers a story about a person they have never seen before. What are their struggles? Where do these feelings that they reveal come from?
Venditto’s art classes at Salve Regina University strengthened her artistic skills and gave her the courage to try drawing and painting pieces that she once thought she was incapable of doing. Aiming to gain a larger audience, Venditto regularly posts photos of her most current works on Instagram (@vkvartwork). She looks forward to producing more work for her senior art classes and discovering what her art career holds beyond college.
